My research topic: University student's Lunch Habit

Target: Kwansei gakuin University students (Sanda campus)

Number of respondents: (Male: 6 + Female: 2 = 8)

< Summary > 

Students answered 11 questions about university student's lunch habit.

< Results >

Graph #1 shows that students eat lunch at several places. In fact, 37.5% responded "classroom", as same percentage responded "cafeteria" 25% responded "outside". These is no student eating lunch at academic commons.

Graph#2 shows that most students like to eat lunch with their friends. On the other hand, one student like to eat with thier girlfriend or boyfriend at outside. I infer that outside is a better place to feel free that lead students to eat with lover.

Graph #3 shows that half of the them usually eat convenience store food. These results was not surising because there are many delicious things there.

Graph #4 shows that almost all students eat rice. Rice makes you feel full easily. And noodle came in 2nd place. On the other hand, I was surprised that no one chose bread.

Graph #5 shows that their favorite menu in cafeteria was ramen, the 2nd was set menu, and the 3rd was donburi. This result was as I expected, ramen was the most popular menu.

Graph #6 shows that they take lunch until 11:00 to 13:00.

They usually take lunch during or after 2nd period, which the time everybody gets hungry.

Graph #7 shows that they think about the nutrition "so so". Half of the students responded "so-so", 25% responded "yes", and another 25% responded "no". Unexpectedly, 75% responded that they care to take well-balanced lunch.

Graph #8 shows that most students take protein, carbothydrates, vitamin and mineral. They care not to take lipid. Most of the student take 5 main nutrition.

List #9 shows that they spend about 500 yen for lunch. These results were not surprised because students can buy reasonable food at the campus.

Graph #10 shows that most student are enjoying their lunch. However, I was surprised two students answered 2 that means they do not enjoy their lunch that much.

List #11 shows that they want fast food restaurants such as, McDonald's, Mister Dounuts. Students wish a reasonable and delicious, famous restaurant.

< Conclusion >

I was not that much suprised about the results. They usually take enough food. However, some students do not spend fun time. I should have asked more question why they do not enjoy thier lunch enough. Therefore, this survey could be useful for making more fulfilling lunch time on campus.
